i m from tata steel. here we use inclined chute for transportation purpose of sinter, but it causes a lot of return fine generation. so can we use pipe conveyor as a better alternative for transportation for sinter to eliminate transfer point.plz tell me the feasibility of it.

Try to formulate comprehensive posts. You have asked elsewhere about using pipe conveyors. You also have several posts whining about your fines generation situation.

Forum experts are such because we have the knowledge & experience to solve problems. We are not mushrooms. If you don't give the full picture you can't expect much comment from the gallery.

DEAR MR NITISH

PLEASE NOTE PIPE CONVEYOR IS USED TO TRANSPORT MATERIAL FROM A MIN DISTANCE OF 60M AND NOT SUITABLE FOR THIS APPLICATION.

IN THE MEANTIME,PLEASE SEND THE DRAWING OF INCLINED CHUTE WITH CONNECTED EQUIPMENT DETAIL FOR SUGGESTING

A SUITABLE DEVICE.

Pipe Conveyor For Sinter Transportation?

Erstellt am 3. Aug. 2006 - 09:37

Mr. Nitesh,

As mentioned by Mr. Gateley, your information does not provide a basis for proper evaluation. I ask that you povide more complete information including:

1.) Material

a. Bulk density

b. Size distribution

c. Etc

2.) Max Rate requirements

3.) Profile data (in the for of a drawing)

4.) Etc.

From your description thus far, (to replace a transfer chute) you must need a lowering high angle system since your chute will not likely flow properly at angle less than 55 degrees.

Our DSI Snake Sandwich High-Angle conveyor system may be the best solution. Please visit our web site to learn more.

You can provide the required additional information, in this forum so that all experts can comment.

Dear Mr. Nitesh,

To reduce generation of fines you need to convey material with minimum relative motion between material and the conveying media. It is required to study your problem first before any conclusion. please let me know :

1. Flow of material ( average & maximum)

2. lay-out. desired feed & discharge of material in plan & elevation

& No of feed and dischage points

3. lay-out of the plant to know the space constraint.

I think, you are considering pipe conveyor as you want to avoid dust emmision in conveying alongwith minimising of dust generation. We manufacture pipe conveyor system. But its feasibility depends greatly on your lay-out.

We also manufacture completly enclosed troughed belt conveyorsystem and steep angle conveyor system which might solve your problem.

You can also mail me your data at fairtech@indiatimes.com
