Exhibition and conference: Extensive presentation of powder and bulk solids technologies
Size reduction, milling, screening or mixing: These operations are not only the basis of manufacturing processes mainly in the building, chemical, pharmaceutical and food industries, but also of many other industrial production processes. The booming Chinese economy is dependent on powder, granules and bulk solids technologies, which are the focus of attention at International Powder & Bulk in the Shanghai New International Exhibition Center INTEX from 5-7.6.2006. The 3rd International POWTECH Pavilion – a presentation platform for international suppliers of powder and bulk solids technologies – is organized by Nürnberg Global Fairs as part of the exhibition. The commitment of the China Heavy Machinery Industry Association ( CHMIA ) confirms the importance of International Powder & Bulk: The association is represented at the exhibition for the first time as co-organizer and with its own pavilion.
China continues to attract with superlatives – and is also the world’s fastest growing market for the chemical industry at present. According to experts, China will become the third-largest chemical production country after the USA and Japan this year – ahead of Germany. Many large companies in the industry are already investing substantial amounts in new production facilities in China and have located subsidiaries in the Shanghai Chemical Industry Park. The booming chemical industry is only one example of the growing demand for powder and bulk solids technologies.
The same applies to the food, pharmaceutical, paint and coatings, quarrying and earthworks and ceramic industries. “China will become the key market for the suppliers of powder, granules and bulk solids and the associated technologies in the coming ten years,” says Axel Bartkus, Asia expert at Nürnberg Global Fairs.
The International POWTECH Pavilion organized by Nürnberg Global Fairs offers many advantages for German and international companies wanting to present their products on the Chinese market: Besides a good stand position at the exhibition, the companies profit from help with making travel arrangements and handling marketing measures. The international exhibition subsidiary of NürnbergMesse also arranges competent service providers from interpreter to carrier and offers help with technical and organizational matters before and during the event. The company also possesses competence in this industry: The POWTECH exhibition organized at the home location in Nürnberg has been one of the world’s leading trade fairs for mechanical processes for powder and bulk solids technology for years.
There is a bigger demand than ever for international know-how in these segments in China. The Chinese organizers of International Powder & Bulk, the Worldwide Exhibition Service and the Chinese Society of Particuology, accordingly expect some 400 exhibitors this year (2005: 331) – including the industry’s most important companies. One third of all exhibitors in 2005 came to Shanghai from abroad. Moreover, the new partnership with the China Heavy Machinery Industry Association (CHMIA) promises more exhibitors from the plant engineering segment in 2006. The national association unites some 1,100 members from industry and research. Many of last year’s exhibitors have also doubled or even trebled their stand size, so the display area is expected to be around 10,000 square metres in 2006 (2005: 8,000).
Arrangements have also been made to ensure an exchange of views between Chinese and international experts and between industry and science: For example, the China Committee of Freight Pipeline is organizing a symposium on “International Bulk Solid Handling”. The 9th Congress of National Industrial Minerals Processing and Application Techniques organized by the China Non-Metallic Minerals Industry Association (CNMIA) examines trends and developments in industrial minerals, mineral materials, process technologies and plant and apparatus for particle production and surface modification. The visitors expected at the exhibition and congress will be mainly from processing industries and the trade, from which the chemical industry provided the largest share last year.
