I have some task from my lecture about designing simple Bucket wheel reclaimer capacity about 100 ton/hour use in coal mining.

but, I have some difficulties getting the standard size of bucket in bucket wheel reclaimer. Can you help me to find the standard size of the bucket? (Book/Web)

Thank's

Dear Mr. Hendro,

Deciding the dimensional features of bucket wheel is a complex subject. However, you intend to prepare a write-up for your lecture so I would not discourage you. Firstly, you need to be clear about the working of bucket wheel reclaimer of particular type, reclaiming efficiency of the overall machine, bucket wheel types, the arrangement and dimensional requirement for chute at the bucket wheel centre, bucket wheel mounting by shaft and bearing, bucket filling action during reclaiming, depth of cut, slewing speed at the centre of bucket wheel, etc. Providing even preliminary information about the method of selection of bucket wheel dimensional features, is difficult in such forum. I suggest you to contact local companies who are dealing with such machines in your country and they may be able to provide you some basic idea about the aforesaid issues to enable you to prepare the technical write-up for your need. Your query is from Indonesia, where coal handling is an important business activity and possibly the concerned material might be coal. In this case, you can opt for cell-less type bucket wheel.

Salamat pagi Hendro,

This is a very small throughput. Work out the receiving conveyor dimensions; draw a wheel just big enough to reach the conveyor feed chute & pitch about 12 buckets around the wheel. Buckets will have to accept the largest reasonable lump. That's it.

Drive is variable speed with all manner of overload protection which does not concern your application.
