You are right that you can only search the eLibrary for articles, and then you must try to find them in a real Library. You should try to locate the "Best of... " books once published by Trans Tech Publications. They were excellent compendiums, but I believe they are no more available, since Trans Tech was sold in 2005.
There are also technical magazines in this field, and you can learn more by visiting Google.
If you work for FAM Germany, as your website indicates, you should really have no problems with information in this field.

Hallo,
als ehemaliger Student aus Magdeburg gehts auch in der "orginal Sprache".
Wir sind ein beratendes Ingenieurbüro in DK und haben einige shiploader entwickelt. Das spezielle ist, daß wir diese sehr leicht bauen.
