Safer Isolation Needle Gates

Hi All,

We have several needle type isolation gates in use on clinker etc. for major isolation of the material stream.

Normally, these are not used, but they are from time to time.

Ours are located up high near the roofs of tunnels and require manual hammer work to drive them in and also out....big bertha style.

Not very ergonomic or safe.

I was wondering if there are better and safer needle gates on the market/sites eg hyd. actuated in and out or some sort of worm/screw.

There are a few gates - some something that can be transferrable would be nice or the project will be hard to justify.

Has anyone been thru this scenario/issue and developed a good all round solution?

Thanks

James M

Dear mr. Morrish,

You should look at pinch valves to solve your problem-only if the clinker is cold as the valve may melt depending on the temperature of clinker otherwise they are great product.
