Dear Mr. Cementawi

Of course we would like to help you.

But it is necessary that you specify your question.

Do you mean the internal angle friction factor (angle of repose) (settled or fluidized) or the a friction factor related to pneumatic conveying and even then related to which calculating algorithm ?

If you require the cement friction factor for a real project, please supply us with the specific that of that project and the specifications of your product(s).

From there, we can assist you in a much better way

Hear from you

Dear Teus

thank you for your replay but actually my question not for a real project , and regarding my specific requirement is for calculating the pressure drop in pneumatic conveying system. Actually I would like to calculate the loss of pressure drop by effecting of flow of solid(cement).

Dear Mr. Cementawi

Calculating the pressure drop of a pneumatic conveying system needs a calculation method.

Depending on the chosen method, certain parameters are involved.

The total pressure drop can be divided in various partial pressure drops.

One of these partial pressure drops is related to a product dependant factor (product friction factor).

This product friction factor represents, together with a defined formal, the amount of energy that is lost in inter particle collisions and wall collisions.

This product friction factor for a certain product is normaly calculated back from existing installations using a certain calculating algorithm.

The obtained factor, therefore, is related to that algorithm.

This factor can NOT be used for another algorithm or calculation method ( they belong together)

As I use my own program, the friction factor I use is of no value for other programs.

If you have a certain program available, with which you can calculate the pressure drop of a pneumatic conveying system, you must have the factors belonging to that calculation program.

Or calculate back from existing installations, which might require a lot of efforts and mathematics to find the factor plus the right friction formals.

I know what I am saying, because just that took me abt. 10 years to do.

I am sorry that I am not able to help you further.

Good Day Sir

Our firm, Pneumatic Conveying Consultants, has offered several different software programs for sizing pneumatic conveying systems, calculating cyclone sizes, selecting components and trouble shooting conveying systems.

Our PNEUCALC program will assist you in making the calculations you need and include the necessary factors and parameters which were explained in the reply from Teus.

If you are interested in receiving more information and a proposal, please contact me at my e-mail address below.
