SUCCESSFUL COMMISSIONING OF THE FOURTH TECHINT SHIPLOADER AT CVRD TERMINAL, BRAZIL.
On July 15th last, the new shiploader, supplied by Techint for the Cia Vale do Rio Doce (CVRD) at Pier III Ponta da Madeira Terminal, Sao Luis, has satisfactorily completed the no-load tests and started its operation in full compliance with the contractual schedules.
The shiploader built by the Brazilian manufacturer Confab, also part of Techint Group of Companies, has a capacity of 8000 tph iron ore and will be used to load vessels up to 200,000 DWT.
The peculiarity of this machine is that it is the fourth shiploader ordered by CVRD to Techint Technologies for the Carajas Terminal. This shiploader (CN04) will operate in the same Pier III where another machine (CN03) is in operation since beginning 2004 with full satisfaction of the client.
A remarkable success based upon Techint know-how, high quality and good performances reached by the shiploaders supplied combined with the reliability granted by Techint and Confab technicians always able to meet all customer’s expectations.
