On a large Australian coal mine materials handling system I am trying to evaluate some options of;
(a) smaller overland conveyors and larger stockpiles.
(b) larger overland conveyors and direct feed to the plant.
The stockpiling option (option A) incurs an operating and maintenance cost of stacking and reclaiming. In this case travelling, slewing, lluffing 2500 tph stackers and 2500 tph portal bridge or bucket wheel reclaimers.
Does anyone know of some studies, which show stacking and reclaiming costs, or relative costs to other options (if the currency is different), or any other useful indication which might provide some insight on operating and maintenance costs of stacking and reclaiming.
