Hazardous ATEX Gas Zone Approval for Particulate Emission Monitor

PCME Ltd, technological leaders in the field of stack particulate and dust emission monitoring have extended their range of ATEX certified particulate emission monitors to include Hazardous Gas Zones.

The DX800 and DX810 recently certified as Category 1 devices under ATEX are suitable for use in both hazardous Gas Zones 0, 1, 2 and Dust Zones 20, 21, 22. Suitable for use in a wide range of emission applications throughout the Chemical Processing, Steel and Food industries where Hazardous area certification is required, these instruments are typically installed after arrestment plant such as Bagfilters and Cyclones to monitor emissions, quantify particulate loadings in mg/m3 and/or to detect process upsets.

Designed for optimum functionality and reliability in these demanding environments, the system utilises galvanic isolation which eliminates the requirement for an independent, intrinsically safe earth. The DX810 is rated for use in temperatures up to 800oC and high pressures making it suitable for use in Chemical reactors and other polymerisation plant.

“PCME is continually obtaining approvals for its advanced instrumentation to meet applicable international standards for performance and safety” said William Averdieck, Managing Director. “We are delighted to achieve this Gas Zone ATEX accreditation within 18 months of receiving our first Category 1/2 approval for Dust Zones.“
