Melco has supplied product for bulk materials handling installations in over 55 countries around the world. Melco products are suitable for conveyor widths from 250 mm to 3000 mm, for plant, overland and underground installations.
In addition to standard sizes, Melco offers a comprehensive range of shaft diameter and bearing configurations which allows designers to extend idler spacing from the traditional 1 to 1.5 m, to 4.5 and even 5 m. Where this technology is applied, the unit cost of the heavier duty idlers may be higher than conventional idlers; however, the total cost of installed idlers is greatly reduced.
Latest innovations include the Melco Rollerbrake(tm) Anti Runback roller, a safety device for improved incline braking as well as the use of a computerised robot welding machine, which improves the consistency of the quality of manufactured conveyor idler bases.
