Switching MOTOR LEADS

Posted in: , on 15. Aug. 2004 - 20:50

On vibrating screens:

DIRECTIONAL ROTATION: Will have the shaft turn towards the discharge end or directional. Typical setup.

COMPLAINT: Sometimes screen carries too many fines over the deck too fast.

Possible Solution: This is a try and see proposition vs a black and white definitive answer.

COUNTERFLOW ROTATION: By switching motor leads from above position, we cause the shaft to turn UPHILL towards the FEED END of the screen. This slows FPM (foot per minute travel rate), throws the material uphill against the downhill 20 degree slope, retains the material on the deck longer, lays the material into the hole opening nicely, so you actually reduce the foreshortening of the opening effect.

CAN RESULT IN CLEANER MATERIAL.....must be tried to see if this is in fact true. Sometimes we just increase the bed depth and end up in the same situation as directional travel.

HAPPY SCREENING............keep smiling......George
