Martin Engineering introduces

rubber-buffered SQC2™ Secondary Cleaner

Martin Engineering (Neponset, Illinois) has introduced the rubber-cushioned SQC2™ Secondary Belt Cleaner. The new MARTIN® SQC2™ Cleaner is composed of individual 5.88 inch (149 mm) -wide blade segments assembled on a mainframe to remove residual material from the belt’s load-carrying width. Each segment incorporates an individual rubber buffer or cushion to absorb impact and allow splices to pass without damage.

Blade segments of the MARTIN® SQC2™ Cleaner are mounted on a cartridge that allows easy “one-pin” removal of the cleaning assembly. The new cleaner is suitable for use on conveyors with belt speeds up to 1000 feet per minute (5.1 m/sec). It can be used on conveyors with mechanical belt splices, and on conveyors that reverse or suffer rollback. The compact design of the MARTIN® SQC2™ Cleaner allows installation in narrow spaces.

As a secondary belt scraper, the MARTIN® SQC2™ Cleaner should be installed so its blades contact the belt two to four inches (51 to 102 mm) after the belt leaves the discharge pulley.
