Could you show how to use this formula based on the following example:

Material :Coal

Grain size : 0 – appr. 30 mm

Cut Point:10 mm

Capacity :300 t/h each screen

Bulk density : appr. 0,85 t/m

Efficiency : 85 %

Material distribution : 0 – 2 mm … ~ 47 %

2 – 8 mm … ~ 32 %

8 – 35 mm … ~ 21 %

Rotating Screens

Erstellt am 17. Jun. 2008 - 02:25

Hi there,

I have read this thread with great interest. Thanks for the very useful information. I have a question though...

Can this formula be used for a rotating trommel screen?

If not, is anyone aware of any literature that I may be able to access to help me in understanding the principles behind sizing a rotation trommel screen.

(by rotating trommel screen i mean a large barrel that rotates slowly with screen mats as the shell...fed into one end...undersize falls through the screen and oversize works its way out the other end. feed material is a slurry)

Thanks.

Mathias

For Trommels?

Erstellt am 14. Feb. 2009 - 06:11

the VSMA formula is sizing calc for inclined and horizontal screens and feeders.

ROTATING TROMMELS......i am not sure it will in fact cross relate, due to different mode of vibration.

BUT, i think you should ask the trommel screen experts...McCloskey International for guidance on trommel screen sizing.

TRY THIS LINK.......
