November 2003: Brabender Technologie, Inc. - Major order for 150 loss-in-weight feeders for bulk ingredient and liquid metering in 6 compounding lines has been placed with Brabender Technologie, by GE Plastics China Ltd. GE Plastics produces new compounds, for instance for the
automotive industry, in Pan Yu in the province of Guangdong in the southern part of China. To meet the great demands made on such high-quality plastics, the metering feeders used for extruder feeding are required to achieve high metering accuracy.
The decision in favor of Brabender Technologie was mainly due to the FlexWall ® Plus Feeders among the metering feeders offered. These feeders work independently of stirring agitators due to a paddle-massaged flexible hopper and feature high flexibility of application on account of interchange- able twin and single screws in the same feeder.
Additional decisive criteria were the minimum cleaning requirement in case of ingredient change-over and the digital high-resolution double wire load call DigiMASS-2 allowing feed rates as low as 200 g/hr, e.g. for additives.
Besides the metering feeders the scope of supply comprises the peripheral installations such as conveyors, slide valves, steelwork, collecting hoppers, etc. and the according engineering.
