InBulk Technologies is celebrating the fact that its pioneering intermodal transport and storage solution, the ISO-Veyor, has won the Good Citizen Award in the recent Supply Chain Awards run in association with Motor Transport.

Entered for the award by InBulk Technologies’ first customer Rugby Cement, the H type ISO-Veyor, developed in conjunction with Rugby, more than fulfilled the category criteria which looked to reward companies that had not only taken steps to reduce the impact of their supply chain on society but also communicated these measures to a wider audience.

Comments Allan Wilkie, commercial director for InBulk Technologies: “We were delighted when Rugby informed us that the ISO-Veyor had won. Rugby purchased 40 H type units last year and has been using them to transport pulverised fly ash between West Burton power station and the Terminal 5 project at Heathrow Airport since February 2003.

“The fully intermodal H type can be transported via road, rail or sea and by employing the H type to transport fly ash using the existing rail network, Rugby have calculated they will save 5,000 road journeys over the next five years. ISO-Veyors can also provide low-cost weatherproof storage and represent a viable alternative to costly FIBCs, drums and big bags.”

Concludes Allan: “The H type ISO-Veyor can benefit companies across a number of industry sectors by enabling them to develop and implement greater flexibility amongst their fleet. In turn, they can then offer customers a far superior service which is both cost-effective and boasts a faster turnaround. Ultimately, ISO-Veyors are set to impact favourably on relieving road traffic congestion in the UK.”
