Techint Technologies in co-operation with the Brazilian manufacturing Company CONFAB, also part of the Techint Group of Companies, are proud to announce the anticipated and accepted by the customer successful commissioning of the bucket chain continuous shipunloader (CSU) for bauxite installed at the alumina refinery terminal of ALUNORTE in Barcarena, Brazil.

The 2,000 tph capacity CSU can unload ships having a DWT from 47,000 up to 75,000 and it is located in the same jetty where the existing Techint CSU is in operation since 1995.

As the previous one, also this CSU is equipped with a variable geometry digging foot (Techint Technologies patent) to allow for high efficiency and lower operating cost.

Furthermore, the new Alunorte CSU, thanks to its sophisticated design criteria and improved operational capabilities, represents the advanced and evolved result of Techint well-referenced know-how in the CSUs field.

This contract, also including the new 1500 tph alumina shiploader and the upgrading of the existing jetty conveyor, fully satisfied the customer’s expectations in the frame of the refinery expansion project.
