Coke At The Crossroads

Dear Dr. Woehlbier:

I would like to ask your help in planning a conference we are now

developing: COKE AT THE CROSSROADS - Survival Strategies to Cope with

Integrated Steel Consolidation, Coke Battery Closures, New Environmental

Mandates, and Chinese Supply Dominance.

This meeting will be held at the Hyatt Union Station Hotel in St. Louis,

Missouri on OCTOBER 2-4, with optional field trips to National Steel's

Granite City battery and to Peabody Coal.

The conference will be devoted to helping coke producers, users and traders

respond to the pressures of increased globalization, industry consolidation,

and stricter environmental regulations. At this point we think participants

would like a review and assessment of global coke oven capacity, met coke

and coking coal trade balances, new coke making technologies, coke

by-products, and regulatory/environmental issues.

Because of your role in the industry, I would be grateful if you could

follow the link to complete the questionnaire:

PLEASE EMAIL IT TO ME NO LATER THAN FRIDAY, MARCH 15. In return for your

help and guidance, it would be my pleasure to send you a free copy of a

paper presented at the "Coke Summit 2001" held last year in Pittsburgh.

Just indicate your choice at the very end of the questionnaire.

Thank you in advance for your help and advice. Please feel free to contact

me with any questions or further suggestions. My direct e-mail address is

olmstead@intertechusa.com.

With my best regards,

indicate that on the questionnaire. Our speaker slots fill quickly, and we

want to make sure your topic is considered as we plan the conference.
