Aerodyne Announces New Dust Testing Options

New Factory Testing Will Help You Find the Right Dust Collection Solution

Cleveland, OH. USA – October 16, 2014Aerodyne Environmental, the industry's leading manufacturer of industrial cyclonic dust collectors and dust collection valves, is offering a new service that will help manufacturing companies determine how to solve dust collection problems. Aerodyne now offers factory dust testing for customers to utilize.

This new service offers a few different testing options for customers in order to better determine the best type of equipment solution that will trap particulates. Depending on the application, particulates not only range in size but also in characteristics, from sticky to dry to fibrous. Manufacturers have a variety of equipment and filter choices available, and some are more effective based on the type of particulate matter being trapped. Aerodyne Environmental's new testing facilities will help companies specify the proper dust collection system.

The first selection is the Dust Particle Size Distribution. Customers can simply submit a 5 gram sample of their dust or particulate, and Aerodyne's test will identify particulate size, ranging from 0.024 micron to 2800 micron, in order to determine the level of filtering required.

Aerodyne also offers factory testing as an option for dust testing to test dust removal efficiency. Customers can choose to run their particulates through several of dust collection systems at the Aerodyne facility. The first choice is the GPC-18 (800 CFM), a high-efficiency compact dust collector. The SpiltStream cyclone dust collector, with a unique counter cyclonic split stream design, is also available for factory testing. Customers will have the choice of utilizing a SplitStream Model S-400 (400 CFM), which can be separated with clean air secondary, dirty air secondary, or recycle secondary configurations. Or customers can select the SplitStream Model S-1000 (1000 CFM), which can be operated with clean air secondary. A sample of the dust will be tested before and after it has been run through the SplitStream cyclone for particulate size and removal efficiency. Operating conditions will be standard temperature and pressure. Customers also have the option of being at the Aerodyne facility while their particulate is being tested if they wish.
