Effective Venting and Dedusting

Posted in: , on 3. Mar. 2014 - 10:10

Dear All,

I just want to know what should be the distance (minimum and max.) between feeding and suction point for a belt conveyor dedsuting. How the dedusting hood can be designed.

Is there any calculation.

Also I want to know about basics of venting volume calculations and pipe size calculator for given set.

Please advice.

Thanks and regards,

Sanjay

Martin Engineering - Foundations is always a good place to start looking.

If you can't find what your looking for there you need extra specialist help.

"Feeding and suction" are undefined in your question and you definitely need to do some background reading before attempting any semblance of a dust collection design. Even after that you should enlist the services of a specialist.

You could start with "Industrial Ventilation" by The American Conference of Governmental Industrial Hygienists. This gives the basics but you need experience to apply these guidelines to real-life projects. As John suggests, engage a specialist. It will save you money and may prevent disaster.
