Fox Venturi Eductor conveys ash at temps up to 900° C - with No Moving Parts

Fox venturi eductors have been used to pneumatically convey high temperature solids - with no moving parts - for over 40 years. In this recent application, Fox was contacted for a simple application to convey approx 10,000 lbs/hr of flyash, a few hours per week, into a furnace to burn off impurities. Expected ash temperature was approximately 760 ° C . A standard 8 inch/ 200 mm Fox venturi eductor was installed with a matched pd blower, also supplied by Fox Venturi Eductors, with air flow rates carefully controlled to maintain appropriate convey velocities, essential for minimizing both erosion and power consumption.

Fox eductor in operation, glowing red

Shortly after installation - required performance changed from operating a few hours per week with ash at 760 ° F - to continuous, 24/7 service - with ash temps at an elevated 900° C. The photo above shows this Fox eductor in service, glowing red, conveying ash at 850 - 900° C . This eductor has been in service for approx one year. Fox eductors for high temperature installations are available in materials like carbon steel, 316 ss and high nickel alloys.

Gentleman, Please find below the latest figures of Fly Ash generated from our power plants which will give you an idea about demand of your innovative products in India--

Total installed capacity: 85000 MW

• Coal consumed: 410 million-tonne

• Average ash content: 32.16%

• Total ash generated: 139.0 million-tonne

Generation of Ash will going to increase by 20% by 2014-15 when all mega power plants from 2000- 5000MW will come in to stream.

We see a great demand for your product for upcoming power plants and also in existing power plants.Existing power plants are already facing problems how to handle fly ash and are ready to adapt /adapting similar type of system.

We,Libran Engineering&Services can help to launch your product/products in Indian market.

Your photo shows a highly reflective floor, possibly due to water spillage. If this is the case you should offer to shield the device to prevent flashing.

It appears that the drive air line is rigidly supported upstream: yet there is a flexible line section further upstream. Is this pipe support method compliant with the local Standards?
