Eriez® RE Drum Separators Provide Superior Protection against Ferrous Contamination

Erie, PA, USA - Rare Earth (RE) Drum Separators from Eriez® feature Erium® 3000, a high quality rare earth permanent magnetic power source. Eriez RE Drum Separators deliver unmatched performance, purifying large quantities of bulk materials such as foods, plastics, abrasives, metal powders, ceramic material, paper, glass cullet, soda ash, kaolin clay, chemicals, gypsum and quartz powder. They remove very fine ferrous particles, locked particles, and even strongly paramagnetic particles.

Neodymium-boron-iron rare earth permanent magnets develop magnetic fields up to 25 times stronger than conventional ceramic or alnico units, with no increase in size. The additional strength helps in removing weakly magnetic or very fine iron contaminants from a wide variety of fine dry bulk materials as well as slurries.

The increased strength at a greater distance, high gradients and increased holding force of Eriez

RE Drums allows them to hold magnetic or fine iron contaminants so tightly that wipe–off by product flow is virtually eliminated. These drums are an ideal choice where high product purity is required.

Eriez RE Drums are part of the complete line of drums from Eriez, which includes standard models in diameters from 12 to 36 inches (305 to 915 mm), and widths from 12 to 60 inches (305 to 1525 mm). These units provide efficient separation on feed rates up to 100 TPH.

Eriez® is recognized as world authority in advanced technology for magnetic, vibratory and inspection applications. The company’s magnetic lift and separation, metal detection, x-ray, materials feeding, screening, conveying and controlling equipment have application in the process, metalworking, packaging, recycling, mining, aggregate and textile industries. Eriez manufactures and markets these products through 12 international facilities located on six continents.

Eriez® Hydroflow® Star Filter®

Posted on 3. Jul. 2012 - 03:52

Name: EriezLogosmall.jpgViews: 446Size: 23.2 KB

Eriez® Hydroflow® Star Filter® Provides Easier Cleaning and Improved Filtration over Rotating Vacuum Drum Filters

Erie, PA, USA - The Eriez® Hydroflow® Star Filter® is a packaged system combining the dirty tank, filter and clean tank in one assembly, eliminating the balance problem of multiple components. This system uses one of the most proven technologies in the machine tool industry and offers significant advantages over every other technology including vacuum drum filters, pressures pre-coat and flat bed pressure filters.

Each Star element is precision built and totally interchangeable. The vertical angle of each filter panel provides a vertical drop for the dislodged filter cake, providing gentle yet thorough settling of the vacuum compressed filter cake. Each Star element can be removed for inspection and re-installed into the Star seal without concern for misalignment or proper sealing.

eriez_hydroflow_star_filter

The Eriez® Hydroflow® Star Filter®

The element’s star shape and the filter panel’s compact, rectangular design maintain structural integrity after removal from the filter. With the end caps removed, cleaning on both sides of the filter panels is simple, unlike the circular construction used in drum filters. Many other additional features make the Eriez® Hydroflow Star Filter unique in vacuum element filtration:

•Stainless steel Wedgewire, patented fuse-bonded stainless steel Microscreen, or polyester cloth filter panels are constructed to meet specific customer requirements. Unlike drums or tubes, the panels can be cleaned on both sides, eliminating the costly replacement of filter septums.

• Slurry Distribution Ring provides accurate and effective introduction of cellulose pre-coat.

•Patented Wet Seal is a positive seal that eliminates solids by-pass.

The clean fluid “backflow” incorporated into the Star Filter eliminates the need for large volumes of air (used in pressure filters) or scraper blades (used in drum filters). Scraper blades can force solids through and into the clean stream and also lodge dirt into the screen, reducing the open area for filtration. Fully automatic operation eliminates the complex hydraulic or air closure systems needed to seal pressure filters.

The Star Filter uses two stages of filtration. In the first stage, heavy solids quickly settle to the bottom of the tank and are removed by the drag conveyor. In the second stage, the Star element connects to the suction side of the pump and draws the fluid through the element, trapping solids on the surface.

Eriez® Literature Features Magna-Rails and Magna-Rolls®

Erie, PA, USA - Eriez® is offering a free brochure spotlighting the company’s Magna-Rails and Magna-Rolls®. The literature explains that Eriez® Magna-Rails and Magna-Rolls have been the industry standard for four decades.

The 12-page brochure includes photos of Magna-Rails and Magna-Rolls at work, detailed product descriptions, specifications, pull test data, installation data, selector charts and more. The products’ features and benefits are highlighted throughout the literature to help readers understand how these versatile tools can help improve their production lines.

eriez_magna-rails_and_magna-rolls_brochure

According to the brochure, an ever present need within many processing industries is the ability to hold steel parts firmly on moving belt conveyors. Such conveyors, fitted with Eriez Magna-Rails, ensure that parts do not fall off, even when being elevated or lowered. Magna-Rolls are commonly used in direct contact with steel sheets and tubing. Their firm magnetic grip helps ensure that when the roll turns, the steel moves. Further, when the roll stops, the steel stops as well, thus eliminating the need for pinch rollers.
