Topics Include:

• Feeding & Dispensing

• Sanitary Pneumatic Conveying

- These two presentations from K-Tron will focus on complete material transfer and feeding technologies for a wide variety of difficult pharmaceutical operations, including dispensing, tablet press lubrication, continuous mixing, continuous extrusion and granulation, and contained feeding and transfer of potent compounds. Comparisons will be made on a variety of feeding techniques for different difficult materials. In addition, several installations will be shown illustrating the use of vacuum pneumatic transfer for both raw materials as well as finished tablets and capsules.

• Containment via Isolation & Containment Valve Technology

- Presentation from ChargePoint focuses on the principle of the split butterfly valve, how it acheives a high containment or aseptic product transfer, the performance envelope, and how it is validated to industry guidelines.

- Presentation from ProSys provides an introduction to principles of containment in the pharmaceutical industry for Highly Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (HAPI) by means of engineered solutions and will also touch on solutions for sterile and biopharmaceutical requirements.

• Sieving & Low Energy Milling

- This presentation from Quadro / Fitzpatrick will focus on a variety of low energy and impact milling techniques for the size reduction of pharmaceutical compounds with an emphasis on minimizing overall dust exposure and explosion risks.

• Micronization

-**This presentation from FPS will focus on innovative micronization and jet milling systems for size reduction of pharmaceuticals. Topics discussed will include containment of micronization operations as well as cryogenic and sterile micronization installations.

• Roller Compaction

- This presentation from Fitzpatrick the various risk factors around dust exposure and explosion risks will be discussed as well as some potential solutions to minimize the risks for the processor.
