Hi, I was wondering if after crushing calcium carbonate I fire it to increase its temp and soften the rocks and then grind in to fine powder which is then coated with stearic acid would be better way than just doing it the traditional way of crushing, grinding and coating without firing process? Has anyone tried this? and got really good results? Obviously heating the stones before grinding would increase the cost but I just want to know if its worth it. Thank you

I have done some work on microwave pre-treatment which the rapid tempurature (expansion) change in moisture causes fracturing in the rock. This has two benifits.

1. Reduces the starting moisture for the furnace feed,

2. Reduces the grinding cost of the rock.
