Micronization of Hard Minerals

Micronization of Hard Minerals to the Nano Range

Dry and Wet Micronization of Hard Industrial Minerals Down to the Nano Range

Wednesday, March 16, 2011 2:00 pm EST/ 20.00 h MEZ

Hard minerals, such as quartz, feldspar and zircon sand, are widely used in the glass, ceramic and porcelain industry. It is always a challenge not to increase the Fe2O3 content during processing. Highly wear protected machines, in order to avoid any increase of the Fe2O3 content, must be employed.

This presentation discusses suitable high-end dry and wet micronization systems for hard minerals for whole range of finenesses for standard ceramic applications, usually at finenesses of D97 = 45 to 100 µm, down to the Nano sphere of 400 nm.

The program is designed for anyone processing mineral fillers but could be beneficial to anyone with a size reduction application. The program will run for 45 minutes and conclude with a short question and answer session.
