Dear Pandab,
Solids loading ratio : 81320
The value for SLR being defined as (material mass per second)/(air mass per second) cannot be correct.
In your case:
0.0097 * 1.2 * 81320 = 946 kg/sec # 3407 tons/hr
946 kg/sec equals 946/2510 = 0.377 m3/sec, resulting in a material velocity of 468 m/sec.
as the calculated air velocity = 0.0097 m3/sec / (3.141593/4*.032^2) = 12 m/sec.
Review your input data according to the requirements of the Fluent software.
Success

Thanks Teus.......Have a great day... ■
Pneumatic Conveying in a Y-Shaped Pipe
Pneumatic conveying of micro-glass beads in a Y - shaped pipe occurs. I am using Fluent software to simulate the flow.
Given Data:
Gas volume flow ratio : 0.0097 m3/s
Inner diameter of pipe : 32 mm
Solids loading ratio : 81320
Particle diameter : 2 mm
Particle density : 2510 kg/m3
Bulk density : 1386 kg/m3
Sphericity : 0.92
How to find the inlet velocity for each phase , void fraction , flow rate weighting at out flow so that I can use the data for simulation.
Thanks in advance........
Regards
