Re: Horizontal Curves

If my memory is still working, the first published horizontal curve analysis was by Joe Barr (sic) where frictional steering, rotation without elevation (banking) was used on a conveyor in Sweden, in about 1959.

Dr. K. Grimmer published the concept of tranverse idler roll elevation (banking) in his University work in about 1963.

Dear Nordell,

In an article on Horizontal Curves he answered my questions. Our warmest thanks!

if not sorry to bother you, please can you tell me what he said was written or published in any document?

I'm very concerned about the ability to bend conveyors with horizontal plane. In the mining industry in Vietnam does not have application forms horizontally curved conveyors so I'd take it to the transportation bill. Could you help me learn the general theory and research about it and if possible in the short time we set up the investment project will take to transport it to mine. If he can supply equipment shall be happy to provide support and information to market his transport mine in Vietnam.

respect,

Dear nphctk,

I have Dr. Grimmers various publications as well as other prominent academic authors regarding horizontal curve engineering.

May I suggest you contact me by my email for further direct discussions at:

nordell@conveyor-dynamics.com

I will be happy to given professional advice on horizontal curve engineering. Conveyor Dynamics, Inc. has designed and published on many horizontal curves on many continents which are references to our understanding since 1989.

The physics and installation complexities have advanced since Dr. Grimmers earlier works.

I look forward to direct discussions.
