Re: Transition Sizing For Flour Lines

Dear JimFGE,

In pneumatic conveying it is not logical to reduce the pipeline diameter in the direction of the material flow.

Increasing the diameter of the pipeline limits the air velocity within economical values.

Anyway, a pipe diameter transition is done by using a normal pipe reducer piece.

Why do you want to reduce the diameter?

Have a nice day

Teus Tuinenburg is right

step pipe is also used in pneumatic conveying to reduce air velocity.

do you wanna sparying the material ?

Pipe Line Reducers

Dear JimFGE,

In piping nomenclature the word "Reducer" is commonly used regardless of whether this device is used to increase or decrease the pipe diameter. I guess your intent is to use the "Reducer" to increase the pipe diameter and your question is "what is the criteria for locating a reducer in a pneumatic conveying pipeline". Please clarify your intent.
