Its both a complicated and simple question at the same time Mr. Zhu.

The issue with belt take ups is the proper use of tension to create the traction needed to rotate the belt to do work.

A hydraulic take up is used in many if not most cases where there is no room or cavity below to use a gravity take up and weight basket; and is the simplest form of tension using gravity to create the traction and pressure needed to maintain traction while starting and running empty and then when material is dumped on the belt creating the load which the take up reacts against to maintain tension.

I would guess a screw take-up is the most widely used over the hydraulic. Just an opinion.

Probably correct when considering the TOTAL number of belt conveyors world wide.
