Hope your conveyor is not fixed with back stop ( known as hold back also ) or ratchet in your conveyor.

Conveyor can run in both directions by changing the motor polarity. Talk to MCC provider. Must also check the calcs for drive traction and make sure the idlers do not have forward tilt. ■

If your conveyor has a gravity takeup and you are trying to drive through the takeup, you will lose slack side tension and the drive pulley will slip on the belt.
If you have a manual takeup make sure it is tight and that the drive pulley is not slipping.
The suggestion about checking for a backstop is an excellent one. ■
Hold Back
Check for the hold back in gera box and reverse the polarity for motor direction. It should be OK. ■

Dear Sirs
There is no hold back at the gear drive the belt could run with out holding back at the both direction`s but the main trouble when i need to reverse it to be the main pulley (drive pulley ) drawn the upper belt ( tension on top ) the belt can drive until the materials falling then the belt slowing down and then stop , i found no trouble when the other direction in order (the tension on bottom ) , please advise

Yes i guess so , all my attempts to increasing the belt tension was gone and the belt still slipping .
Can i ask about idlers for reversible trough belt conveyor , any special arrangement's for top or return , may be i lost some idlers in return side .

Well, if the belt is stationary with the drive pulley rotating then it must be slipping.
Driving the conveying belt is ALL about friction between the belt and driving pulley. You need to calculate the belt tensions across the driving pulley in the forward and backward conditions to ensure that you adequately tension the belt to ensure the pulley drives the belt. It's all in the T1/T2 tension ratio across the driving pulley and the friction between the pulley surface and the belt. ■

Can you share with me how the best way to operate reversible belt conveyor to transfer fresh clinker to 2 ball mills my problem is the belt now work with one direction and when i need to revers the direction the belt is stop moving , the drive is 18 kw geared motor with last speed 60 rpm single drive .
