Phosphogypsum Treatment

Posted in: , on 5. Mar. 2010 - 03:58

Greetings,

i am an award wining young entrepreneur in Saudi Arabia in the service sector. despite my experience in the service sector, i have been always dreaming of manufacturing ,

Recently i had managed to get a great chance to catch a project in phosphogypsum treatment for a factory that will produce 2 Milion Tone of phosphate a year. This means there will be around 10 million tons of phosphogypsum a year. I made some initial research on this matter but i still have allot of questions needed to be answer :

1. How much investment needed

i know its very hard to determine the cost at this stage but at least a very basic idea will do the job for now ( i dont even have an idea if this is going to cost 10 Million USD or 1 Bilion USD !! and i coudnt have info so far)

2. Phosphogypsum commercial use

in my initial research i came a cross alot of research and information that promote the use of phosphogypsum in agriculture and constructions industry. i am more interested in its uses for the construction industry BUT is it commercial visible ? can any one compare the prices of nature Gypsum with the Gypsum that might be produced after the processing of the phosphogypsum ? which one is cheaper ?

also in using the phosphogypsum for the cement and concrete industry, is this commercially used and implemented now or just in the researchers papers ?

I was interested in the phosphoric acid as a row material to use it in different final products but i hold my horses until i see the visibility of phosphogypsum treatment

I will highly appreciate guidelines and thoughts about my concerns above also any blueprint of existing factories will help me allot to have better picture

Thanks and bye for now

Saud

Gentleman, I really appreciate your thinking which proves about your award and this thinking will definitely fulfil your dream, please find below some Leeds which will be of your interest.

1.Phospho-gypsum (calcium sulphate) is produced while making phosphoric acid. For every tonne of acid made about five tonnes of phospho-gypsum is produced which fertiliser companies are increasingly finding difficult to dispose of.

2.Now, if you will also start making wall panels you can save on brick/blocks and mortar. A 36-sq-metre phospho-gypsum wall panel could replace 3,960 bricks. Additionally it would save on 12,000 litres of water and 2.9 tonnes of carbon emission. The carbon emission relates to brick manufacturing.

3.A Panel project will cost you about Rs 6-8 million euro which is shall also earn 0.1 million credits per year worth € 1.65 million.(A bonus for you)

4.You will also get 70-80% help from your Country and raw material(waste from the plant) will get free of cost where the natural gypsum in SAUDI is very costly now a days .

There are very few companies who can give you the equipment,it is always better to go for detailed feasibility study.

We will advise you to go for this project.if you need our company to share 30 years of experience for preparing feasibility study, equipment supply from India,Manpower from India please let us know, recently we have completed supply for equipment related to Gypsum Calcination plant in Saudi from India.

Regards, Anil
