Spare part for 2 years (Belt Conveyor)

1- Belt Length 10 %

2- Drive pulley bearing and seals 1 set

3- Tail pulley bearing and seals 1 set

4- Snub pulley bearing and seals 1 set

5- for each type of idler 10%

6- for each type of switch 1set

for commissioning

1- for each type of idler 10%

2- for each type of switch 1set

3- for similar pulley bearing (in your group) 1set

I think for commissioning you need one set for similar pulley bearing but for 2 years spare part you need one set pulley bearing for each belt conveyor, that's depended for your client

some client wants a set of motor gearbox for each belt conveyor.

Did I miss seeing Chute liners? This is always a major expense. Getting them wrong is also a major expense to the owner.

Poor Chute Flow Performance: major reason belt's wearing out or getting damaged prematurely.

We see in almost all older mines extremely poor chute design and poor flow control.

Chutes are the most undervalued component and potentially the greatest asset where the next dollar should be spent for the greatest return on your investment.

I have some question related your spare part list.

1) all these thing use for 2years spare part or for commissioning can you specified them separately

2) please specify the quantity in percent or qty

3) i think some spare that you specified is not used in belt conveyor i specified these item with N

4)I don't know some items what applied in spare part,I specified them with K please explain them

I am "Guilty" as charged Mr. Nordell I forgot the chute liners simply because we never used them in Halite other than replacing the chute with AR plate.

I listed everything you would as far as I can remember that you need for spares using a roller chain drive unit as they are wear parts.

a screw take up for small belts will require no hydraulic parts.

Asalaam Malaaikum,

I did not give you a very specific number for several reasons:

what you asked is a very generic question and it can be easily answered by a conveyor supplier or conveyor system designer

1. the conveyor systems entire length and routing is unknown.

2. working capital for inventory is unknown.

3. conveyor plan is unknown.

4 preference for conveyor type is unknown - cable supported or steel supprted or cable belt.

The issue of actual recommended stocking levels depends on:

size of conveyor (width)

planned tonnage per hour-day, week, month, year

splice type desired or required for duty cycle and conditions

gravity or hydraulic take up type of tensioner

conveyor drive type-fluid drive, euro drive, head pulley drive, roller chain drive to spur gear drive.

inventory for two years out has to be adequate for replacement spares due to wear and spares for catastrophic failure- motors, reduction units, rubber couplers idlers, bearings, pulleys,

splice inventory for mechanical splices is a basic inventory need for any conveyor using them as the number count is totally dependent on how many one has and of what size as well as wear and tear of the splices.

The hopper is placed underground

for a number of reasons.

1. the desire to use gravity to it is

maximum advantage to reduce

physical plant.

a. increased flood loading capacity with the

systems depth during rake unloading

operations.

b. availability of good bed rock for for the tippler

which allows faster construction of the tippler

buiding by blasting the rock out in X number

of lifts/shots.

A 72 foot depth would require 12 shots plus

what ever trim shooting to eliminate

overhanging rocks cliffs and allow

efficient mucking by hand if human labor is

a factor.



The belt incline from the pit to the stock pile will be

shot at the same time each lift is shot where the

incline becomes the actual starting point for the shot.

where the shot is designed to break the rock in the

incline first and then blast the left and right sides of

the lift to the tipplers foundations desired perimeter

beyond the formed foundation and walls to allow

room for placing the foundation forms and then

building the walls.

The center decline continues until the desired depth is

reached and the trench for the built is continued to depth

by drilling and shooting the width of rock trench unitil the

desired depth is reached for the takaway belt and tail pulley

which will be under the apron feeders used to move the coal

to the center of the tail pulley/hopper impact point

The incline also becomes the point where the muck is removed using

a tracked muck car or a tugger hoist with railed narrow guage muck cars



The power plant where I worked as a seasonal laborer

was built with brick walls on a concrete foundation.

The coal car tippler was built the same exact way.



2. the desired or "only" available location

and distance of the stock pile from the

tippler.

3. lack of space for trestle dumping area with

or with out mechanical reclaim.

4. lack of rolling stock with with belly dump or

side dump doors in hopper cars.

The take up point is where pressure is used to maiintain

traction on the belting while it is traveling
