Anhui Conch trusts on materials handling technology made in Germany

In Asia, the name of Anhui Conch Cement Company Ltd. stands for the biggest cement and clinker producer of the last ten years. After several successful business deals in the past few years, Franz-Walter Aumund, chairman of the board of management of the AUMUND Group, now had the chance to welcome prominent guests from China at the head office in Rheinberg: Headed by president Guo Wen Shan and vice president Yu Biao, a top-class delegation of Anhui Conch Cement Company Ltd. visited the works of the Rheinberg-based group of companies.

Today the Chinese company has more than 50 subsidiaries and production plants; until 2006 Conch Cement built 17 clinker production plants and 21 cement grinding facilities with 36 kiln lines and a capacity of 2,000 to 10,000 tons per day in nine provinces. According to Anhui Conch, the total capacity of the facilities is about 70 million tons.

During the last few years, AUMUND has received orders for the planning and delivery of materials handling equipment for various clinker production plants and grinding facilities in the South East of the country.

For the expansion and upgrading of the production lines 3 and 4 of the Tongling Conch cement works AUMUND supplied the materials handling technology for the transport of raw material and clinker. With a production capacity of 10,000 tons per day and line the Tongling Conch works is the biggest cement works in the People's Republic of China. Each production line is equipped with two 76.9 m high AUMUND belt bucket elevators which feed the raw meal silos at a conveying capacity of 550 t/h. In addition, AUMUND supplied two 132.1 m high belt bucket elevators for feeding the five-stage preheater tower at a conveying capacity of 680 t/h. The supply scope is complemented by the clinker transport from the cooler to the clinker storage with a deep-drawn pan conveyor which transports the clinker at a capacity of 700 t/h over a distance of 190 m and a conveying height of 50 m. The assembly supervision also forms part of the contract.

Further components of almost identical design were installed by AUMUND Fördertechnik at Chizhou Conch Cement Ltd.: The daily capacity of the two now producing lines will amount to 10,000 tons each - and thus is identical with the capacity of the Tongling Conch works. Here, each production line is equipped with two AUMUND belt bucket elevators (135 m high) which feed the five-stage preheater tower with raw meal at a conveying capacity of 680 t/h. The raw meal silo also is fed with AUMUND belt bucket elevators (550 t/h capacity). The supply scope further includes the clinker transport from the cooler to the clinker storage by a deep-drawn pan conveyor of 1,600 mm width, 199 m center distance and 52 m height. In the cement works of Ningguo, Jiande and Digang which also belong to the Conch Group, AUMUND erected three deep-drawn pan conveyors with a conveying capacity of 360 t/h.

A further deep-drawn pan conveyor offering a capacity of 700 t/h of clinker, two 135 m high belt bucket elevators for feeding the preheater tower with a capacity of 680 t/h as well as two belt bucket elevators for feeding the raw meal silo will be installed in the new cement works of the Anhui Conch Group in Xuzhou, China's Eastern province at the Jangtze. The Xuzhou cement works has an annual production of three million tons of clinker and 1.5 million tons of high-quality cement. Seven - nearly identical orders - were booked by AUMUND for the Conch works China Cement 1+2, Shuangfeng Cement, Yingde Cement 1+2, Guilin Cement and Huaning Cement. Here, each of the orders gained comprised one deep-drawn pan conveyor and two belt bucket elevators.

AUMUND's success in China is the result of many years of work directly in the country: Already in April 1994, the company opened a representative office in Beijing which today forms part of the AUMUND Group as an independent subsidiary. Meanwhile, another subsidiary exists in Hong Kong where just recently a spare parts stock has been inaugurated that will provide the Asian customers with spare parts.
