Niederlenz/Switzerland, (October 1, 2009) - K-Tron Process Group offers a wide variety of solids and liquid feeders for pharmaceutical processing applications. Pharmaceutical designs are all engineered to meet the rigid requirements of the industry; including cGMP standards as well as the use of FDA approved and certified materials of construction. The stainless steel K-Tron Pharmaceutical feeder is available in volumetric and gravimetric, single and twin-screw models.
All models offer clear separation between the production area and the drive. The feeder is designed according to cGMP guidelines, easy to clean, and can be disassembled without tools. The feeder offers the option of a stainless steel cover for the motor and gear box and can be integrated into a wall to offer further sanitary control. The pharmaceutical feeder line can be outfitted for Clean in Place (CIP).
Both volumetric and gravimetric versions are available, expanding the range of materials and feed rates that can be accommodated. Common applications for the K-Tron pharmaceutical feeder include feeding into a jet mill for micronization plus feeding in extrusion and tablet press operations.
