7th Asian Aluminium Conference

Date: 27 Oct 09 - 28 Oct 09

Venue: Kowloon Shangri La, Kowloon, Hong Kong

As the effects of the global economic crisis continue to be felt, all eyes in the metals business are keenly fixed on the emerging marketplaces of Asia for the first signs of recovery. China, the world‚s biggest producer and consumer of aluminium, is the powerhouse of the Asian region, and consumption trends there strongly influence global supply-demand balances. Moreover, throughout the Asian region, the infrastructure needs and consumer aspirations of growing populations will also help shape future demand growth curves globally.

Building on the well-established and popular Chinese Aluminium Conference, Metal Bulletin Events is this year launching its Asian Aluminium Conference, to reflect the growing importance at global level of this region, from mine to market , from intraregional trade dynamics to finance and investment issues.

Taking place in Hong Kong, at the hub of this significant marketplace, the conference will examine and explore:

• Chinese politics and economics - implications for aluminium

• An update on regional smelter projects - are they back track?

• Consumption prospects in automotive, packaging etc ˆ what timeline for recovery?

• The raw materials base - from bauxite and alumina to scrap

• Capacity investment downstream in S E Asia

• The outlook for prices and premiums - in 2010 and beyond

Two events - one price: The Asian Aluminium Conference will be held alongside the Asian Copper Conferece and when you register for your place at the 7th Asian Aluminium Conference you can attend sessions in the 6th Asian Copper Conference ( http://www.metalbulletin.com/events/...l?LS=EMS290380) as well, giving you a broader overview of industry health, and allowing you to maximise your time in Asia and make new business contacts.
