Hit it with dry steam. ■
Re: Hot Clinker @ 170 Deg Conveying
Whose idea was it to use a belt conveyor at 170 deg C
Use some form of chain conveyor that will be happy with material at this temperature as my experience with "high temperature" conveyor belts is not great. ■
Hot Clinker At 170 Deg
The temperature of clinker is rather high after a good clinker cooler. Sometimes it becomes necessary to have a heat dissipation bin (steal hopper) after the cooler discharge (fed by a pan conveyor). This bin should have a capacity equal to two hours of production rate. The bin will allow heat from hot clinker pieces (coming out of clinker breaker) to dissipate in the surrounding mass. The bin can feed clinker to a belt conveyor. ■
Re: Hot Clinker @ 170 Deg Conveying
The temp is too high
Pls look at your cooler - you need to add more air or increase the efficiency.
You could look at water sprays on your transport to the silos....not the best idea really.
If stuck - then try to place limestone or gypsum onto the mill feed belt first.
Change your PLC program - make sure that the hot clinker runs off the belt each time the mill stops.
Otherwise, you will have to live with what you have got
Thanks

Re: Hot Clinker @ 170 Deg Conveying
Interesting, I might have thought that by constraining hot clinker together in a bin it would hold it's heat rather than dissipating it. ■
Re: Hot Clinker @ 170 Deg Conveying
Very old style and yes..clinker does not cool fast unless active. There have been designs with a clinker cooling tower and cross flow air ie air to solids HX!!! Feed from top and extraction at the bottom - expensive and more gear to operate
It is not a very good clinker cooler at all if the temp is 170deg C. ■
Gud Heat Recuperation Matters
Mr.Parvez,
Instead of including additional accesories to the system, its much better to increase the heat recuperation in the cooler itself. This will be useful in utilization of heat and reduction of clinker temp. to our requirement.
A process study in the cooler system may give you the most feasible solution as far as the heat recuperation is concerned. ■
Re: Hot Clinker @ 170 Deg Conveying
Please elaborate on the trucking operation. Are you taking it some distance in the public domain uncovered? If it is in a tanker is the vessel insulated against 'hot surface' accidents?■
Hot Klinker Conveying
Make sure that the hi temp belt you install can handle the temperature.
As belt splicing can be a problem with hi temp belts simply get your splicers to fit the temp resiastant super screw belt join in a matter of hours, its that simple. ■
Hot Clinker
Dear Sir,
if you find a way to cool down your clinker to 100°C you will still have problems with the belt conveyor. A belt conveyor is not suitable to handle high temperature materials.
We manufcture chain and I can tell you that your clinker can be handled with a chain conveyor.
If you with to have additional information please feel free to contact me.

Hot Clinker @ 170 deg Conveying
Dear All,
In our plant we clinker from the cooler is conveyed to Clinker silo (23000 T) through DPC and extracted with 2 nos tunnel through DPC. The discharge of extraction DPC is fed to Cement mill feeding Belt conveyor. The temperature of the clinker at the feeding of Belt conveyor is 170 degC.
Due to this the belt needs to be replaced frequently due to higher temp. of clinker.
Secondly we have a truck loading arrgt. for clinker through the manhole of silo. There also the loading spout sleeve often burns due to high temp. of clinker.
Height of silo is approx. 60 mtr.
My question to forum is can this temp. (170 deg) can be reduced by applying some measures.
Kindly suggest some possible options.
Regards,
Parvez ■
