Call for Speakers - Formulation, Mixing & Blending Seminar

We are currently looking for expressions of interest from prospective speakers at the next PowderHandling.com.au seminar.

The PowderHandling.com.au "Formulation, Mixing & Blending Seminar" will be a one-day event for anyone from the Powder Handling & Processing Industries involved with the mixing of dry powders. This seminar will be held in Sydney, Australia in February 2009. (Actual date & venue will be confirmed shortly.)

Focus of the seminar is a comprehensive range of educational talks about current topics relating to blend formulation, mixing/blending and handling of blended products.

Topics:

We are looking for contributions about current developments and industry best practices from the whole field of mixing/blending, e.g.

* Dispensing and formulation

* Mixing/blending techniques

* Comparisons between types of blender

* Which blender for which products

* Post blend product handling

* Blend segregation issues

* Cross contamination issues

Topics could include;

* Industry developments

* Industry best practices

* Technological changes

* Health and safety issues

* Legal issues

* New product developments

We would especially like to see contributions with actual case studies, presenting effective solutions to specific blending issues.

Submitting Contributions:

Registration of interest as a presenter should be made by email to paul@engineeredmarketing.com.au and should include a brief abstract or description of the proposed presentation.

Length of the Contributions:

Presentations should be approximately 45 minutes in length, in order to allow some time for questions and for preparing the stage for the following speaker. (Upon request, speakers may request additional time for topics of specific importance.)

Format:

Presentations are to be made in PowerPoint, with a copy in pdf format. Presentations will be made available to delegates in pdf format, downloaded from the PowderHandling web site after the event.

Selection of Contributions:

Contributions are selected based on their content and compatibility with the rest of the program. Please understand that we cannot accept all contributions, depending on the number and quality of the submissions. Applications are subjected to the following review;

Originality - Topics must provide a unique perspective, viewpoint or way of doing something.

Interest - Topics must contain new and/or relevant material.

Educational Value - An objective presentation that meets the educational needs of the audience is optimal to enhancing the credibility of the speaker, the speaker's employer and the conference. Sales pitches are NOT considered.

Important Dates:

* 14th November, 2008 - End of the Call for Papers. All contributions need to be submitted by this date in order to qualify.

* 28th November, 2008 - Notification of acceptance of all contributions.

* 5th December, 2008 - Final acceptance. We ask all invited speakers to give their final acceptance by this date.

* 30th January, 2009 - Last date for submitting slides.

* TBA - Conference date.

Substitutions:

Speaker substitutions are not allowed, except in the case of an emergency. In the event that a speaker cannot fulfil his/her commitment due to an emergency, a substitute may be submitted in writing for approval, however this does not guarantee a speaking slot for the substitute.

Financial Assistance:

Speakers are responsible for their own travel and accommodation arrangements and expenses.
