Coke stocpile

Posted in: , on 31. Oct. 2008 - 20:37

Hello to all!!

I'm currently working in a project to storage pet coke about one month. the total production is 19200 ton/d. However I need information about dust control&suppression systems.

What is the technique more used for coke stockpiles? I have read that the wet dust suppression systems are more used, is it true? if that is the case, what is the quantity of water and additive that should be used for a stockpile of 135000 tons?

Any information you think could be helpful I'll appreciated it.

regards,

Mary.

Mary,

May I ask why you are stockpiling? Is this to dewater the product, or is it just being stored prior to use?

Thank you,

Spontaneous Combustion Of Pet Coke

If you do not know, pet coke storage can be hazardous. Without proper handling, you can have a pile that will burn from spontaneous ignition. Seek an expert's recommendation on the handling and care of pet coke storage.

The coke can degrade time, losing BTU's, even if you can keep ignition under control.

Hello,

There are numerous products on the market to help you stabilize any stock pile or material you like for dust/erosion. I will tell you from experience that everyone thinks theirs is the best. As a company we have applied about all of them on the market in many different applications like: haul roads, stock piles, tailing piles, vacant lots/pads, and ect. There are pros and cons to each. One product that is new on the market and has proven to be consistently effective and friendly to the environment is Nature's Seal. Take a look at it on the web or at www.windsweptorganix.com.
