Energy Savings for PET
Colortronic, who has supplied the industry with crystallisers for over 20 years, has recently introduced a completely new model range – KT.
The KT is a modular design for both PET and PLA with throughputs of 80-90 kg per hour and the open process minimises the hydrolytic decomposition of the material.
The KT models have a state of the art variable speed blower which is automatically controlled by the exhaust temperature.
This, combined with heat recovery via a heat exchanger, results in probably one of the most energy efficient methods on the market.
The operator interface is via a Touch Screen complete with start up programmes and menus to avoid operator error.
Cleaning and maintenance are made simple and easy as a split cone in the lower section of the hopper allows unobstructed access.

25 Years of Filterless Design
Colortronic, one of the early pioneers of centralised conveying systems, recently celebrated the 25th anniversary of the ‘filterless’ hopper loader.
The unique design, using a separation cone concept has been supplied worldwide and has provided companies with a reliable and efficient hopper loader which has many benefits, which include :
•Reduced maintenance as there are no filters to clean or change
•Improved performance as there are no filters to clog up
•Improved energy efficiency as there is no compressed air usage for filter cleaning
•Improved H&S in the workplace as operators do not need to climb onto machines to clean or maintain filters
•Improved environment as dust does not escape into the workplace
The CSK range, now in its 5th generation, is available in 0.5-88 litre volume and both basic PLC or single wire BUS configuration, resulting in the optimum control system for customer specific requirements.
