Cost per tonne

Hi,

Need an average cost per tonne for the maintnenance and operational costs for a 1600mm wide 35 degree 3 roll surface conveyor travelling at 4.7 m/sec operating 50 weeks a year.

Carrying an average of 5,000,000 tonnes of run of mine coal.

Hello Mechanique..

For a start, you are either operating only 1 shift per day, or your system is a wee bit overdesigned.. however...

Over what distance are you proposing to convey, and are you coming out of a pit or something?

Graham,

The system consists of three belts - one highwall belt, one ramp belt and one stacker belt (40 metres lift)

The highwall belt is 1100 metres;

The ramp belt is 1750 metres;

Stacker belt 400 metres.

Product is ROM coal from an U/G longwall/development operation.

If you have ever seen a longwall in opertation you would understand that it is either a famine (nil coal) or a feast (too much coal) hence the belt sizing.

Mechanique

If you were her in RSA, I guess you would be looking at about fifteen to twenty Ozzie cents per ton to operate and maintain that lot.

Its a bit high, but your annual capacity is not that much.

Much cheeper than trucks but your initial capital will be quite high.
