May.12 Metalbiz¡ªIt is learned from Standardization Administration of the People¡¯s Republic of China (SAC) that 46 national standards supporting Law of the People's Republic of China on Conserving Energy have been completed for revision recently.

To ensure the successful completion of the amendments for the standard system, SAC has called together steel, non-ferrous metals, building materials, chemical, electricity and other sectors to coordinate and solve difficult points in the revision.

The 46 standards includes 22 standard limits on consumption per unit product of energy of high energy-consuming products, 5 transport fuel economy standards, 11 end-products energy efficiency standards, and 8 standards for energy measurement, energy consumption calculation and economical operation, of which 37 are newly made and 9 are revised with 36 compulsory national standards, and all of these standards will be carried out in procession since June 1

Relevant official in charge of this revision in SAC expressed that the implement of the 46 standards will greatly restrain the energy consumption in high energy consuming fields and give technical supports for the generalization of energy saving and emission cutting technology and the standardization of market order.

It is learned from SAC that the implement of limits on consumption per unit product of energy on the main production process of crude steel will make the consumption per unit of sinter process of crude steel drop to 59kg standard coal per ton of steel in 2010, a decrease of 9%; the consumption per unit of blast process drop to 440kg standard coal per ton of steel, a decrease of 4.4% and consumption per unit of converter procedure will drop to 5kg standard coal per ton of steel, a decrease of 80%. The implement of fuel consumption limits on light commercial vehicles will make the total oil consumption of China commercial vehicles decrease 10%. ■
