Which crusher is suitable ?

Posted in: , on 15. Feb. 2008 - 08:52

We require a crusher in Libya.

Requirements are:

Material to be crushed : Hard Dolomite Pebbles

Material Feed Size : 650 mm

Productsrequired : 40 to 20 mm (optional)

20 to 10 mm (demand)

10 to 6 mm (High Demand)

6 to 3 mm (High Demand)

3 mm down ( Waste)

What are the stages of crushing and crusher recommended by Forum members?

Question is how to reduce quantity of 3 mm down.

and increase 20 to 10 mm and 10 t0 3 mm fractions.

We recomended Jaw (primary stage) , Cone in secondary stage and cone again in tertiary stage crushing.

Experts must speakout now...

you will typically be 3 stages of crushing here if in fact, not 4.

PRIMARY/SECONDARY CONE/TERTIARY CONE/VSI CRUSHER or other for finer end.

Please state TPH ....tons per hour in standard or metric tons.

Please state weight per cu/ft.....assumed to be 100@ cu ft

Please state hardness factor.....assembed to be hard and abrasive

650mm pebbles are a bit big.

There are 3 products, 20-10,(simply +10) 10-6,(simply +6) 6-3(simply +3). All else is optional waste.

Jaw crusher nip should be set for 20, a tall order in itself, with some possible tightening. Cone crusher nip can be set to 10, again with some tightening allowance. The tertiary gyradisc, or similar, setting can be fixed at 6.

You first need a 2 deck screen giving +20 (recirculated overflow?) & +10 product. Screened out -10 then gets smashed down in the secondary & oversize product is then screened out as +6 by a single deck screen. After crunching the -6 in the tertiary you are practically obliged to take what you get from the final 3mm screen, mostly dust.

You've aleady made your recommendation so why worry now?

Without test data you can tune the 10 & 6 screen apertures on site. -3mm adjustments are a lost cause.

Good morning gentlemen,

I think that the VSI crusher in the tertiary stage is a mistake! The VSI crusher common made finest product and in this case is fraction 0/3 mm waste – my tip is about 40% (because dolomite)

I agree with JAW-CONE-CONE (maybe a roller crusher will be a suitable).

I don’t think that you adjust the gap on the jaw crusher on 20 mm! (because feed grain size is 0/650 mm). But for right solution is important completely and correct input data.

- Feed grain size (in separate fractions)

- Capacity

- Work index – Wi

- Abrasion – Ai

- Bulk density
