350 Exhibitors Expected in Canon Communications’ First Green Manufacturing Expo

240 companies already on board for January 2008 show that is part of the West Coast’s largest design and manufacturing event

Los Angeles, CA (November 19, 2007) – Canon Communications today announced the highly successful introduction of its new Green Manufacturing Expo (GMX). 240 exhibitors have already signed up to participate in the inaugural GMX initiative in California. Based upon this exceptionally strong response, the company now estimates the total number of exhibitors will be 350 for the January 29 – February 1, 2008 show in the Anaheim Convention Center. Equally impressive is the fact that hundreds of design, manufacturing and facility management professionals have already registered to attend the show in the initial phase of its promotional campaign.

In June of this year, Canon Communications announced plans to launch the Green Manufacturing Expo (GMX) series of shows for sustainable manufacturing as a new feature at its largest events for advanced manufacturing. GMX presents software providers, eco-friendly materials producers, manufacturers of energy efficient automation, production equipment, sub assemblies, alternative energy technology and more. The California show is co-located with Medical Design & Manufacturing (MD&M) West, Pacific Design & Manufacturing, ATX (Automation Technology Expo) West, WestPack, Electronics West, and PLASTEC West, comprising the largest event of its kind on the West Coast.

“It really is impressive to see the breadth of product offerings from exhibitors. Literally the entire spectrum of OEM suppliers are introducing new materials, products and technology to assist advanced manufacturers in the move towards sustainable manufacturing,’ said Kevin O’Keefe, senior vice-president of Canon’s events division. “Even better is the reaction we are seeing in attendee registration. We are confident that our new “Green” initiative will yield thousands of additional attendees.”

Leading companies that have signed up for GMX include Alcan Packaging, Baldor Electric, Bayer Material Science, Clariant, Heidenhain Corp., Henkel Corp., Honeywell, Kenrich Petrochemicals, Mack Molding, Netstal Machinery, Porex Technologies, Saint-Gobain Corp, Sud-Chemie Performance Packaging, and Yamaha Robotics. The Green Manufacturing Expo includes a comprehensive conference where executives from PG&E, Nokia, AER Worldwide, Applied Materials, Hewlett Packard, and Phillips Medical will present cases studies and strategies for the successful implementation of sustainable or “green” manufacturing. The keynote address will be made by Pamela J. Gordon, President of Technology Forecasters Inc., and Director of TFI Environment.
