Explosive risk when handling limestone dust and/or filler

I have been doing some reading regarding the risk of dust explosions. This is obviously a well established topic and there seems to be a great deal of knowledge and experience around (the evidence is in the number of posts on this topic on the forum).

I work in the quarrying industry in the UK (not in the UK at the moment, but I'm soon to return) and this is something I've never come across or been exposed to.

My question is this. What is the likelyhood of a dust explosion occuring in a limestone dust or filler silo?

I have found a lot of info on dust explosions in general and specifically in coal dust etc... but none that mention limestone dusts. Is this an issue?

I suppose it could be that the risks are eliminated or controled through silo design and therefore something I havent had to worry about. Or is it that the properties of limestone dusts present little risk?

Thanks for any response in advance.

The reason that you haven't come across limestone dust in the context of dust explosions is that it isn't explosive!

Thanks a lot.

Thats what I'd assumed given the lack of info on it.

I'm going back in my box now.
