is there any equipment that can measure silo height with max range of 30 meter or more? PLUS ABLE TO WORK UNDER DUSTY ENVIRONMENT

There area a number, however various versions of them rely on measuring the level in the silo, in a fashion similar to what you have already done with a tape measure (and the tape will be more accurate – no electronic gizmos to drift out of the range or be smashed off etc).

How about:

Radar, microwave, ultrasonics (maybe – depends on the dust), capacitance, level switches at known incriments etc

Or maybe

Load cells, strain gauges, maybe thermography etc

Empty silo and then measure material influx

Etc

Lyle

i check of ultrasonic but they have limitation with the range and some not able to work under dusty environment eg cement silo and clinker silo.

we have at this moment silo pilot but i only can rely silo pilot on top of cement silo but for clinker silo uncertain on the reading not accurate.

any sharing pls

Hi;

In a text, it says: D 6m., H 10+6 m. (min. cone angle 67 deg.)

Diameter and cone angle is ok but what does "H 10+6" mean?

Thanks.

The Q is a bit cryptic to me, at least, however maybe this is the straight vertical height of the silo + the vertical height of the hopper to find the total load at the bottom of the silo.

Thank you Mr. Lyle, but this silo is expected to store 300 tons of plaster. So...? I got confused...
