Wear Protection for Plant Systems in the Cement Industry

The seminar „Wear Protection for Plant Systems of the Cement Industry“ will be held at the „Haus der Technik“ (House of Technology) in Berlin on September 20th and 21st 2007. The „Haus der Technik“ is an extramural institute of the Rhenish-Westphalian Technical University of Aachen which is known internationally for high quality events on subjects of technical interest.

The seminar will discuss the following questions:

- fundamentals of wear protection technology

- protection of pneumatic systems

- protection of hydraulic systems

- protection of mechanical conveying systems

- grinding plant and separators

- wear protection materials

- wear protection for more difficult requirements, such as corrosion and high temperatures.

The meeting will be supplemented by a tour of the Rüdersdorf cement plant of CEMEX OstZement GmbH. This is one of the most modern plants in Germany which also includes numerous up-to-date wear protection solutions.

Michael W. Rokitta, Dipl. Ing. Dipl. Kfm., managing director of Kalenborn Kalprotect headquartered in Vettelschoss, Germany will be in charge of the seminar. Lecturers who will be presenting papers on the occasion of the seminar are staff members of consulting companies, plant builders and plant users.

There are plans to organize the seminar in two languages – English and German.
