PROCAP Capacitance Level Sensor Provides Unsurpassed Sensitivity and Stability—with no RF Interference

(Lincoln, Nebr.- March 12, 2007) BinMaster, a leading manufacturer of industrial level control products, introduces the new PROCAP Series of capacitance probes. Calibration stability, static discharge survival, and RF immunity are three ways this series surpasses competitive products.

Using a simple timing technique that compares the discharge time of the probe capacitance to that of a reference capacitance, a PROCAP probe provides unsurpassed level measurement reliability and stability. Just two quick, easy turns of potentiometers and the sensor will maintain precise calibration and dependable operation, even throughout extreme climate changes. The PROCAP Series capacitance sensors operate at about 6 KHz, well below the RF level, and are not subject to FCC regulation. Because they operate at such a low frequency, the sensors also do not interfere with—and are not interfered with by—other electronic plant equipment.

The sensors feature PRO-Shield to guard against false readings from buildup by forcing the active signal to examine a large area around the probe. Time delay readings minimize false signals from sudden material shifts or splashing liquids. A high/low fail-safe switch eliminates process accidents caused by power failure and a bright external LED indicates whether the probe is covered, uncovered, or in a failed condition. Different PROCAP models are available for a wide variety of applications, with models that include extended cables, flush mount models for space constrained spaces, and sanitary models for the food industry. The PROCAP I model features a universal power supply, allowing you to choose from 24 to 240 VAC/VDC.
