New Products at ContiTech

The ContiTech Conveyor Belt Group is expanding ist range of enclosed conveying systems and sidewall belts

The ContiTech Conveyor Belt Group, Northeim, is expanding its product range. The company is now also marketing the SICON® enclosed conveyor system and MAXOFLEX® sidewall belts.

The SICON® belt is capable of negotiating small-radius bends, thereby eliminating the need for transfer stations. The belt remains closed in the shape of a droplet from the feeding point to the discharge point as well as on the return side to help minimize dust buildup and soiling of the conveyor system due to spillage. Steel cords are vulcanized into the profiled ends of the belt. These interact with the guide and support rollers to keep the belt on track. The belt's working stress is borne by steel cords, with the main load-carrying central section of the belt made of highly elastic rubber. The SICON® belt conveyors' outstanding properties explain why they are in use in the most diverse sectors worldwide for the transport of bulk goods, ash, solid fuels, coal, wood shavings, peat, straw, rubbish and flue ash. Conveyor operators rely on SICON® belts for the conveying of lime, sand and gypsum in the cement industry, as well as for the transport of paper, bark, wood chips, scrap paper, sewage sludge, salt and foodstuffs.

MAXOFLEX® sidewall belts, manufactured in a wear-resistant rubber quality, are used for the transport of bulk goods. They offer high-quality long-term vertical con-veyance solutions. Depending on the center distance, the tensile members are either fabric or steel. Normal as well as oil-, grease- and heat-resistant types are available, as is a flame-retardant type. MAXOFLEX® sidewall belts can be supplied with sidewalls of up to 600 mm in height, with the sidewalls on the heavy types fabric-reinforced for added stability. A distinctive feature of MAXOFLEX® sidewall belts is the extra high degree of traverse stability combined with exceptionally good longitudinal flexibility. The sidewalls are designed for a self-cleaning effect when discharging.

MAXOFLEX® belts can also be supplied with three sidewalls to provide a "double" conveyor system on just one belt. In this case, two different materials can be simul-taneously transported on just one belt. The number of compartment dividers can also be varied to allow for configuration of the optimum Maxoflex belt for each application area.
