Batchmixer, the newest technology from De Dietrich Process Systems and DEC ( Dietrich Engineering Consultants sa ), was created specifically to fulfill the need for product-friendly mixing of active substances.

Powders can now be transferred, mixed, and discharged all in a closed environment. Process cycles are run in batch mode under inert conditions if required, allowing powders with different properties to be blended into a homogenous mixture - even oxygen sensitive, explosive powders, or powders with difficult flow characteristics. In addition, this self-contained system enables contamination-free mixing using no rotating mechanical parts.

The Batchmixer is designed using a PTS ( Powder Transfer System ) installed on top of a conical hopper. The two tangential inlets on the PTS serve to automatically introduce powders from other equipment. A central deflector in the main chamber of the Batchmixer facilitates equal distribution of the mixture in the tank. The powders are then recirculated in the vessel for a predetermined period of time to ensure thorough blending.

The PTS limits the speed at which powders are circulated, reducing any risk of particle damage during the process. The speed of the mixing process can also be increased or decreased depending on the amount of product involved. For example, powders with large differences in mixing ratio (1/10,000) can have a reduced mixing time.

The Batchmixer is virtually maintenance free, portable, easy to install, and clean-in-place ( CIP ). This technology is suitable for many applications and can be integrated into most production lines.
