Exploitation of overland conveyor

Posted in: , on 20. Aug. 2006 - 15:12

I am looking for a company that is interested in the exploitation of an overland conveyor system of 2 km long and a belt width of 1000 or 1200 mm.

The investment for the conveyorsystem will be aprox. 1,8 million Euro.

The yearly turn-over for investment, labourcost, maintanance, spare parts, wear parts and energy cost is approx. Euro 400.000 based upon a period of 10 years.

The location where the conveyor will be in operation is The Netherlands and Belgium.

Mr. Brands,

Are you referring to the same conveyor you discussed in your earlier sundays posting?

Conveyors and systems are usually sold on a turn key basis only unless the business has changed radically recently.

Do you own the right of way foir the conveyor path or paths?

Is the conveyor crossing international borders? that in itself is a problem.

A fourty two or fourty eight inch overland conveyor entails a huge investment.

A 42 or 48 inch conveyor 6300 feet long will require substantial foundations for drives, tail pulleys, guarding/hurricane fence along the entire length on both sides to keep out the public and animals, gates for access an access road running the entire length, belt underpasses to allow entry on both sides of the belt etc., wiring for emergency stops, hard wiring for power for the drive units and control wiring.

A dedicated high voltage feeder line will be required for your conveyor as well.

It will require 13000 or more feet of conveyor belt steel or cable supported standards for idlers for the 6300 hundred feet of belt conveyor.

If it will be cable supported it will need 13000 feet of wire rope for support cables.

You will need 13000 feet of steel stands for same if it is steel supported.

13000 feet of emergency stops and wiring for both sides of the conveyor belt.

It will require one or more transfer points.

13000 feet of guard/hurricane fence.

fence posts for fence-1300 or more not including anchorages.

1300 troughing idlers.

650 belt stands of either cable supported or steel type.

650 return idlers/one in each support stand at a minimum.

130 or more training idlers spaced at every tenth troughing idler and every fifth or tenth return idler.

If the area is prone to flooding it will be even more complicated.
