First sludge drying plant in Beijing, to be supplied by Andritz

Graz, 28 July 2006. International Technology Group Andritz was awarded by Beijing Drainage Group (BDG) the order to supply the first sludge drying plant of Beijing, China. Similarly to the plant in Shanghai, which was also delivered by Andritz and has been successfully in operation since 2004, this project will be delivered in a consortium with a Chinese partner. The order value is approximately 10 million USD.

The Beijing drying plant consists of two fluidised bed dryers (each with a capacity of 6.5 t/h) with direct feed system (FDS). Start-up of the plant is scheduled for the end of 2007.

This order once again confirms the world market leadership of Andritz for municipal and industrial sludge drying, with an installed base of now over hundred sludge drying lines. Based on its long-term experience, Andritz offers its clients complete systems, including engineering services, delivery, erection, and commissioning of the drying plants.

Currently, there are more than a dozen Andritz sludge drying plants under construction, amongst them the largest facility in the world in Singapore with a capacity of 1,800 t/d dewatered sludge.
